Name a character I've written about, and I will tell you three things that I think are essential to keep in mind when writing that character.

Cas is a tricky bastard because he kinda...alters from seasons 4-6.

1) He's got a one track mind. When he's got a goal (or an order), that's his priority and he's going to stick to it.

2) He's a shade of gray, which is his weakness and his strength. He's a few scales down from Gabriel in the independence category: He fights Hell, and yes, he rebelled against Heaven, but he never completely let go. He's always going to have one foot in Earth's door, and one foot in Heaven's door. In my opinion, yes, Team Free Will and all that. Do i think he's 100% Team Winchester? No. 100% Heaven? maybe once upon a time, but no.

3) His mannerisms. He's not Spock, or a robot, but he is that...kid growing into himself. I'm not saying he's a child, because he's one badass mofo. At the same time, he's finding his footing, picking up on human lingo and mannerisms, but he's still....Castiel
