My aunt (Great-aunt, but as she told me 'it's just a name. You're my niece as anyone else) has been sick for a long time. Years, but with different things. Beat cancer, infections, lotsa pain.
But she's always come out on top.
Today she became unresponsive. At one point in time, she woke up extremely lucid and told the hospice and the family there she wanted treatment to stop, and that she wanted to go peacefully.
As opposed to previous times (mentioned in above link-post) i had no delayed reaction to the news. I was in the middle of looking for an absurdly important set of keys at the time.
Any day, any moment...
