"Silence"

I wrote a Neddy/Jack drabble...i'm too skeered to post it in the community yet.

Its PG, despite the direction my thoughts originally took. I liked the concept i had in mind...just didn't work out that way. Maybe next time i'll de-drabble it.

He spoke simply to fill the void

 

He told the silence around him of his day in fast past rambles, low murmurs and choked whispers.

 

The silence was not kind to him, tossing his words back in hollow echoes, mocking his loneliness, intensifying each stifled sob in stereo until his own reverberation became his only companion.

His voice was velvet, but his words were barbed and reproving. A caress on the cheek, he wove a web of untruths, a better tomorrow, and the light returned to the desolate blue eyes.

 

Lying is done with words and also with silence.
