Call me crazy

I sit here and i bitch and moan about having trouble with writing, and now i ask this of you.
Random pairings. Rare, even. Maybe characters that might be outside my comfort zone. Prompts. Etc
I think i'm looking to try and expand my horizons, so give me a random character/pairing and prompt, and i'll see what i can whip up, whether it be a drabble, ficlet, or even a small couple liner.
...Thanks?

Date: 2010-11-12 03:39 am (UTC)b) Absolutely! Lordy knows that I will need a break from angels and demons and whatnot next month. :)
b.2) Melchett/Tony makes me go unf.
b.3) X3 I understand completely.

Date: 2010-11-12 03:45 am (UTC)b) sweet.
b.2) oooh. Brain hadn't gotten through all the permutations yet, but. Me likey. (Also, yes, I tend to talk about my brain as if it's a separate entity from myself. I don't really understand where this habit came from. Clearly, I am just odd.)
b.3) And there is Not Nearly Enough QI RPS out there. (I read one or two Stephen/Alan/Jeremy and the brain meltage fallout was spectacular. I just...they're all...
I can't words right now.)
(Excuse to use one of my way too many QIcons, hurrah!)

Date: 2010-11-12 03:49 am (UTC)a.2) don't EVER talk about plot ideas on twitter, as your followers will inspire you further and not help exorcise the ideas at all.
b) My brain is also a separate entity from me. *annoyed at it tonight as she was dreaming about the above plot bunny last night*
b.2) I've read...one QI RPS fic. If I wrote RPS I'd do it!
(excuse to use my silly animal icon!)

Date: 2010-11-12 03:59 am (UTC)a.2) I can see how that would be the case, yes.
b) I don't get plot bunnies in dreams, though I do sometimes get pairings. And then I go o.O? when I wake up.
b.2) I think the lack of plot bunnies comes a lot from the fact that I generally fail at fanfic altogether. I've written a couple, part of a MASSIVE Criminal Minds fanfic project a friend and I have been working on for...almost 2 years now (with no sign of completion in the future, as we're both in grad school and are generally lacking in time).
b.2.2) I also have a couple pieces of original fiction...kinda...that I've been working on for ages and can't make progress on. Because there's an eat-your-brain meme around here somewhere, where basically you write your own tv show. And I have TWO.
b.3) I think I've read pretty much all the QI RPS fics out there. Not hard to do, as there aren't very many.
b.3.2) I don't usually read RPS, honestly. Fry/Laurie and QI are pretty much my limits.

Date: 2010-11-12 04:20 am (UTC)b) I don't usually get bunnies in my dreams but this one ate me. >.<
b.2) Oh, wow. I'm terrible at long projects, so 2+ years is wow. Impressive.
b2.2) That sounds awesome. X3

Date: 2010-11-12 02:51 pm (UTC)b) that happens. Bunnies are sometimes nommity. (cf. Monty Python's killer rabbit)
b.2) We haven't exactly been working on it continuously for 2 whole years, though. We came up with the idea last year in January, worked on it kind of a lot for about 6 months, and then I got busy with getting married and moving and starting grad school, so for the past year and a half, both of us have been poking at the project a bit here and there, but not making a whole lot of progress.
b.2.2) It's a lot of fun. Though I wish I could finish both of them so I could post the dratted things. (And yeah, one of them? I cast Stephen Fry as the starring role. And, um. Hugh Laurie *might* be a recurring guest character. Who may or may not be Fry's character's long-time partner.)
(The other one, my brain just threw a whole bunch of pretty British people at me and said, "here's your cast. make a show.")

b.2.2) Stephen Fry makes anything better, trufax. X3 (I approve of the other one as well. I'd watch it regardless of plot.)

Date: 2010-11-13 05:29 am (UTC)b.2) It's kind of an obsession with both of us, at this point. We can't drop it now, lol.
b.2.2) All that talking about it last night apparently inspired me. Because I finished the bloody thing, after nine months of work.
Also, weirdly enough, I've also written fanfic. For the show I invented. The fic was complete long before the show was. I might need to post that sometime too.

b.2.2) I will read that post-haste! \o/ Congrats on finishing it!

Date: 2010-11-13 06:12 am (UTC)b.2) Yeah, I still go back and poke at it every so often, and I think my writing buddy does too.
b.2.2) Thanks! (We'll not mention the other one. Except that I just unlocked the WIP post so you can go look at the pretty British people I cast, lol)

Date: 2010-11-13 11:32 pm (UTC)b.2.2) They are So. Very. Pretty.
Also, that picture of Tennant and Cumberbatch? Is honestly kind of what inspired the entirety of what passes for plot. I pretty much went "BC/DT? Yes Please." And then suddenly everyone was fairies, and it's like Romeo & Juliet but kind of not.
Also, Talulah Riley and Gemma Aterton are kind of my favorite British actresses. I blame the St. Trinian's movies.
