Call me crazy

I sit here and i bitch and moan about having trouble with writing, and now i ask this of you.

Random pairings. Rare, even. Maybe characters that might be outside my comfort zone. Prompts. Etc

I think i'm looking to try and expand my horizons, so give me a random character/pairing and prompt, and i'll see what i can whip up, whether it be a drabble, ficlet, or even a small couple liner.

...Thanks?

a) Ahahahaa no. The idea is a detailed sci-fi AU thing with prophets and such and my NaNo is...not. At all. And they would not mesh well.

b) I don't usually get bunnies in my dreams but this one ate me. >.<
b.2) Oh, wow. I'm terrible at long projects, so 2+ years is wow. Impressive.
b2.2) That sounds awesome. X3

a) But it sounds kind of awesome

b) that happens. Bunnies are sometimes nommity. (cf. Monty Python's killer rabbit)
b.2) We haven't exactly been working on it continuously for 2 whole years, though. We came up with the idea last year in January, worked on it kind of a lot for about 6 months, and then I got busy with getting married and moving and starting grad school, so for the past year and a half, both of us have been poking at the project a bit here and there, but not making a whole lot of progress.
b.2.2) It's a lot of fun. Though I wish I could finish both of them so I could post the dratted things. (And yeah, one of them? I cast Stephen Fry as the starring role. And, um. Hugh Laurie *might* be a recurring guest character. Who may or may not be Fry's character's long-time partner.)
(The other one, my brain just threw a whole bunch of pretty British people at me and said, "here's your cast. make a show.")

a) It is kind of awesome. I mean. It's got some reality switching, the prophet is dreaming about the sci-fi stuff and publishing without realizing that the main character in her books is/was real and supposedly died a few years ago. (The people close to this character were surprised when they read the books, needless to say.) And yeah.

b.2) But you haven't dropped it. I admire that kind of dedication.
b.2.2) Stephen Fry makes anything better, trufax. X3 (I approve of the other one as well. I'd watch it regardless of plot.)

a) That sounds complicated. Awesome, but complicated.

b.2) It's kind of an obsession with both of us, at this point. We can't drop it now, lol.
b.2.2) All that talking about it last night apparently inspired me. Because I finished the bloody thing, after nine months of work.
Also, weirdly enough, I've also written fanfic. For the show I invented. The fic was complete long before the show was. I might need to post that sometime too.

a) I am v.v.v. good at complex plots, let me tell you.

b.2) Good to hear. :3
b.2.2) I will read that post-haste! \o/ Congrats on finishing it!

[identity profile] mb-jazz-freak87.livejournal.com 2010-11-13 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
a) Apparently so. Go you. (I'm fairly certain I'd just confuse myself.)

b.2) Yeah, I still go back and poke at it every so often, and I think my writing buddy does too.
b.2.2) Thanks! (We'll not mention the other one. Except that I just unlocked the WIP post so you can go look at the pretty British people I cast, lol)

b.2) You will finish it eventually, I am sure. :)
b.2.2) Those are some pretty British people. I'd watch it just for that. X3

[identity profile] mb-jazz-freak87.livejournal.com 2010-11-13 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
b.2) I hope so. Maybe once we're both done with grad school, we might have time again. XD
b.2.2) They are So. Very. Pretty.
Also, that picture of Tennant and Cumberbatch? Is honestly kind of what inspired the entirety of what passes for plot. I pretty much went "BC/DT? Yes Please." And then suddenly everyone was fairies, and it's like Romeo & Juliet but kind of not.
Also, Talulah Riley and Gemma Aterton are kind of my favorite British actresses. I blame the St. Trinian's movies.
